My name is Karlo (no "s", spelled with a "K"). I'm probably the only one you know.
In the beginning....I played it safe, went to engineering school (Virginia Tech) b/c it was "Practical" and "Safe". Had a creative side but was discouraged to pursue anything professionally in fear that it wouldn't pay the bills.
I picked up a camera in 2007, couldn't put it down, & got obsessed. Started planning all my free time around it and incorporating it with work in any way possible. Former boss told me "I think this is your God Given Gift". I wasn't even religious at the time and that punched me in the brain.
Aside from that, I describe it as a "self-kindling fire". There's a garbage quote that says "once you find what you love, you'll never work a day in your life". That's a fallacy. Once you find what you love, you'll work harder than you've ever worked in your life. The difference is, when you wake up in the morning, you'll actually want to get out of bed and kindle that fire.
